on the Review of Chapter VII “Intellectual Property Rights”
of the Individual Action Plan of Russia in APEC
On April 20-25, 2009 the visit of the international experts of the Forum “Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation” (APEC) to Russia aimed to review the Individual Action Plan (IAP) of Russia in APEC took place.
Within the framework of this visit the meeting with one of the experts, Mr. John McKay (Australia), on the review of Chapter VII “Intellectual Property Rights” of IAP of Russia in APEC was held on April 22, 2009 at Rospatent.
The representatives from Rospatent, its subdivisions (Federal Institute of Industrial Property, Russian State Educational Institute of Intellectual Property) and from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation took part in this meeting.
In the course of discussion the issues on the approach to the public education in IP area, organization of IP specialists training at Rospatent system, and also issues of enhancing of public awareness and promotion of awareness in IP field were raised.
The visit of the APEC experts to Moscow is to be resulted in the Draft Report to be sent by the APEC Secretariat to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation to receive further comments from the Russian side.
